Come and be

Come and be

After what seems like an endless stream of rainy days, the sun is finally shining over my little garden. The rain has done it well, watering the earth and the plants, bringing out the lush greens of new spring growth. This has been a long cold spring and to awaken to the bright sun is a special treat. The azalea is in full bloom, blanketed in white flowers as bright as freshly fallen snow. The little waterfall tumbles down the rocks bringing with it a deep sense of serenity. As I watch the rays of sunlight dance over the rocks and reflect off the falling water, a flash of yellow catches my eye. A small warbler darts in and out of the leaves of the Forsythia. He is drawn to the falling water but does not like to leave the safety of the trees. A light breeze whispers to me, gently enticing me to come and to forget my worries. Come and be.

  1. Very poetic description. Do you write poems?

Thank you! Sometimes I write poetry, mostly just free verse or nature writing like this
